Congratulations on taking part in Walk Into My Future!

A group in your community has organized a Walk Into My Future event designed to help the child in your life start saving for higher education. The goal is to inspire children to take pride in their future - while you get a headstart on college savings with Nevada's own Upromise College Fund 529 Plan.

Here are three steps that you can take to start saving for higher education now and in the future. The Walk's sponsoring organization will be contacting you with specific details about the event. Step by step, we can help all Nevada children reach their full potential.

  • A key part of the Walk event is asking family and friends to sponsor the student with pledges. All pledges are invested in your student's 529 plan account for future education expenses. Here are tips to make asking for pledges easier.
  • The easiest way to ask for - and receive - pledges is through Ugift® - Give College Savings (available to account owners). It allows you to send out pledge invitations to family and friends by email or paper. Use this step-by-step enrollment/pledging guide to help you create Ugift invitations for the Walk.
  • People giving pledges send their money directly to your child's account; there is no need for you or the child to handle money.

  • Remind your child to thank everyone who gave a pledge or supported them during the Walk.
  • Continue to contribute to your Upromise College Fund 529 Plan account throughout the year!
  • Save even more! The Silver State Matching Grant Program helps qualifying families save for higher education; and the Upromise College Fund 529 Plan offers additional ways to save!
